The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Division of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery is seeking a candidate for a non-accredited Clinical Instructor position for a one-year period to staff our new high-growth collaboration between Northern California Kaiser Permanente and Stanford Children’s Health congenital heart surgery program, located in Oakland, California. The desired candidate may be board-eligible or non-board eligible in cardiothoracic surgery. All candidates must be eligible for a California medical license. Clinical Instructor duties will include patient care responsibilities in the preoperative evaluation of patients admitted to the pediatric cardiac surgery service, intraoperative involvement with technical aspects of complex surgical repairs, and postoperative care both in the intensive care unit and on the ward, with particular emphasis on daily involvement in the operating room. Opportunities for clinical research projects are also available. Individuals who have completed a training program in cardiothoracic surgery and are interested in additional training in pediatric cardiac surgery may apply. The expected base pay for this position is $100,000 a year. This amount reflects base pay and may not include all components of compensation or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs. Stanford University has provided a pay amount representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position.
