The Department of Surgery and the Division of General Surgery at Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) and Longwood Specialty Physicians (LSP) seeks to recruit a board certified full-time general surgeon to serve as a Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Director for Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Milton. The successful candidate should have extensive experience in weight loss surgery. Advanced skills in laparoscopic surgery techniques are required. Robotic assisted surgical skills are not required, but would be beneficial. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional skills in organization, leadership, program development and mentorship. Teaching opportunities at the Boston campus are available based on the candidate’s interest and skillset.
Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Milton is a 100 plus-bed community hospital providing full healthcare services just 6 miles south of Boston. BIDH-Milton is part of the Beth Israel Lahey Health network system. BIDH-Milton Weight Loss Surgery Program is accredited as a Comprehensive Center with Obesity Medicine Qualifications.

Requirements
- Board Certified in Surgery.
- Fellowship training in bariatric minimally invasive surgery.
- Must hold or be eligible for a full medical license to practice in Massachusetts.
- Must hold or obtain a MA Control Substance Registration and Federal DEA.
