Hand-Elbow-Surgical Specialists of Alaska is the private medical clinic of Dr. Michael McNamara. Set in the beautiful city of Anchorage, Alaska we serve the local community as well as referrals from across the state. Dr. McNamara's practice is exclusive to the upper extremity, specializing in surgery of the hand. Moving to Alaska in 2002 he quickly earned the respect and admiration of the medical community across the state. The clinic has experienced substantial growth and as the community remains stable during the current economic climate, it is time to expand with the addition of another upper extremity surgeon.
Company History
Hand-Elbow-Shoulder Surgical Specialists of Alaska grew from the private practice of Dr. Michael McNamara. Fellowship trained at the Hand Center of San Antonio with CAQ of the hand, Dr. McNamara has been in private practice since 1999. He was the Chief of Orthopedics at the Everett Clinic in Everett, Washington prior to moving to Alaska in 2002. Since that time, Dr. McNamara has dediciated is surgical talents to the upper extremity as well as developing specialized instruments for surgical procedures. In 2004 the clinic hired a Physicain Assistant, Robert Thomas who also provides surgical assist. Most recently a move to larger office space has allowed for digital x-ray and additional opportunity for another upper extremity surgeon.
